Hello! Firstly, before starting to tell you what I came here to, I want to apologize for 1. not being active in the past months (but I will explain why further on) and 2. for the mess this post will be since I didn’t prepare it at all.
January just passed and we’re now in February, a lot has happened in this past month.
I passed all my classes in University for this first semester, so I’ve been on vacation since December and I’ve been taking all this time to recover my sleep and my health, relax with my brothers and friends and just enjoy life.
University has really been a challenge, I never expected it to be easy but I never thought it would be this hard. It has pushed me to my limits and made me discover myself. It also gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and I’ve achieved my main goal which was to open my horizons, get to read good literature, improve my english and learn a new language. (I’m learning Japanese, although it isn’t in university but online)
I grew up with the thought that education was the most important thing in life, my grandparents always taught me and always wanted me to excel in everything, I never lost a school year because of that and now at 18 I’m on one of the top Universities of my country. The thing is that here, I don’t excel anymore, my grades are lower, they are positive but they are still pretty low (let’s say school grades here are 0-20 and where I used to have 16/17 in highschool, I now have 10/11/12/13) I know that having lower grades in Uni is a common thing when you first arrive, so I will try my best and work even harder this semester to do better. I just hope my health will cooperate and not give me any trouble.
Leaving education aside, January has been one of the best months. Compared to 2016, 2017 is going great. I went to my first concert. 24K were on an European tour called Stillwith24U (24K are a kpop band for those of you who don’t know) and my friend bought us tickets to go see them since I’ve been enjoying kpop for quite a few years now and I introduced her to it back in the beggining of uni. All I have to say is that it was an amazing experience, if I could I’d do it again. We couldn’t afford the VIP tickets that enabled us to meet the boys but we payed the normal ones (which were 30€) and enjoyed the show as much. Plus we got to meet a member of the band staff who was kind enough to take a picture with us:
Here you can see my friend on the left, the band staff in the middle and me on the right.
The photographer who was there taking the pictures of the waiting line was also kind enough to come near me and friend and show us a backstage photo of the members. We got extremely lucky.
The concert went smoothly without any issues. The boys were extremely nice and thoughtful, they did their best in trying to talk to us either in slow sentences in Portuguese or in English.
This is the only professional photo I have of the concert in my computer. It is Jinhong singing and I can’t possibly express how beautiful he looks. *silent screams* (credits are in photo)
Here you can see my friend and me holding stickers some girls were giving out while we were waiting. She has Kim Taehyung (V) from BTS and I have Kisu from 24K.
Wrapping up the concert was amazing and I cannot wait for the next one. They said goodbye to us by saying:”Vou sentir saudades de vocês” (I will miss you) in the most adorable way. (You can tell how in love I am with them can’t you?)
Still in the Kpop category, BTS which is my favorite band is making a comeback, the concept photos have been released (some of them because knowing BIGHIT like I do I think there will be a lot more to come) . I am sad because I couldn’t pre order their album which itself wasn’t expensive but adding the shipping cost from South Korea (I think it was going to be shipped from there) to Portugal it ended up in almost 30€ and I can’t possibly give that much money for an album.
On another note, we are still waiting for them to release more dates on their world tour and I’m praying that they will come here although I highly doubt it. European ARMY have been trying to bring them for years and still we haven’t succeeded. BUT who knows? Maybe this year will be the year! FIGHTING.
Summing up, I hope that this year will be filled with memories as precious as the ones from the concert and I hope that I will be able to focus on something new when I have free time (like dancing , something I really liked to do when I was younger but have lost through the years). I also hope that I’ll be able to visit a new country which is something I’ve been wanting to do since last year.
Now enjoy this photo of Park Jimin with pink hair in a fluffly sweater:
I hope your year will be filled with joy
